TV Dominates Viewing Time but Digital Video Views on the Rise
Two sources report that video viewing is climbing but that it still remains behind traditional TV consumption:
- Parks Associates say that U.S. broadband households spend on average 1.3 hours per week watching video on a tablet and 1.6 hours per week watching video on a smartphone. But this compares to almost 20 hours per week on the television.
- Nielsen reports that TV viewers spend much more time with traditional TV viewing — around four and a half hours per day of live TV on average; and around 30-35 minutes a day with digital video, according to its second quarter cross-platform report.
